Sixth Memphis Officer Involved in Tyre Nichols Fatal Beating Officially Fired From Department
The sixth Memphis police officer concerned in the deadly beating of Tyre Nichols has formally been fired from the division.
Friday, Officer Preston Hemphill was terminated after the Memphis PD decided that he violated a number of division insurance policies.
In a press release launched Friday night, MPD stated:
“After a evaluation of the circumstances surrounding this incident, we decided that Officer Preston violated a number of division insurance policies. Officer Hemphill was departmentally charged and terminated from the Memphis Police Department for the next violations:
