Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen’s son Mingus, 22, appears in court for assault charges

Norman Reedus and Helena Christensen‘s 22-year-old son appeared in court on Tuesday after being arrested in September for allegedly assaulting a girl in New York Metropolis.

Mingus Reedus is charged with misdemeanor assault for the Sept. 24 incident, the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Info (DCPI) beforehand confirmed to PEOPLE.

It is unclear if Mingus entered a plea throughout his court listening to on Tuesday. A trial date has been set for Jan. 5, in accordance with the New York Post and the Daily Mail.
