Michael Blackson Jumps To Ice Cube’s Defense Over ‘Friday’ Salaries

Michael Blackson jumped to Ice Dice’s protection Wednesday after Dice was criticized for less than paying Faizon Love $2,500 for his portrayal of “Big Worm” in Friday.

“Just like any other job there’s entry level pay for first timers, once you make a name for yourself you can demand any amount of money that you want and if they want you they will pay,” the comic wrote on Instagram.

He included an image of a tweet with the publish that broke down his pay construction for the movie. “I got paid $800 a day when I did Next Friday plus overtime I made $1200 for my one day’s of work,” he wrote. He then thanked the movie for serving to him turn into the “biggest African comic.”

Elsewhere in his publish, he thanked Dice for the franchise, understanding that it helped launch his profession.

On Wednesday morning, Dice retweeted a critic trying to name him out for not correctly compensating Love.

“I didn’t rob no f*** body. The 1995 Friday movie cost $2.3m to make,” he wrote. “Shot it in 20 days. Fazion worked 1 day, maybe 2. All the actors got paid scale to do the movie. They could’ve simple said ‘No’ but they didn’t. So miss me with that s***…”
