‘I’m Not Going to Lie, I Feel Bad’

GQ revealed its “Men of the Year” concern on Monday, with Lil Nas X as one of many three stars chosen for the quilt.

In his accompanying interview, the rapper touches on the controversy over DaBaby’s homophobic statements made throughout his efficiency at Rolling Loud Miami. DaBaby made some adverse remarks about HIV, homosexual males, and girls.

“I’m not going to lie, I feel bad for DaBaby,” advised Jeremy O. Harris. “I hope he grows from it. I hope he’s able to. But I don’t know. The whole landscape is very hyper-masculine.” 

He added. “It’s so great and so amazing that all these female rappers are breaking through. And, in a way, female rappers are the biggest rappers right now.”

Elsewhere within the interview, he touched on his Montero album not reaching No. 1. Drake’s Licensed Lover Boy beat Lil Nas X out for the highest spot. 

“I thought about was how blessed I am,” he stated. “About where I was three years ago. Nobody even thought that I would be here.”

He did reveal that he reached out to Drake, who he calls his idol, to function “Dolla Sign Slime.” It didn’t pan out, and as an alternative, the track options the Houston Hottie herself, Megan Thee Stallion.
