Former Univ. Alabama Basketball Player Allegedly Shot and Killed 23-Year-Old Woman Because “She Wouldn’t Talk to Him”

An Alabama mom whose 23-year-old daughter was allegedly shot and killed by former Crimson Tide basketball participant Darius Miles has damaged her silence about her daughter’s loss of life on social media.

On Fb, DeCarla Cotton stated that her daughter, Jamea Jonae Harris, was shot and killed as a result of her daughter had declined to discuss to Miles.

“Took my baby’s life because she wouldn’t talk to him!!!!” she wrote.

Following the incident, Miles, 21, and Michael Lynn Davis, 20, have been arrested and charged with capital homicide.

“Darius Miles and his family are heartbroken tonight over the death of Jamea Jonae Harris,” legal professional William C. White II stated in an announcement.  “While Darius has been accused of being involved with this tragedy, he maintains his innocence and looks forward to his day in court.  Our firm’s own investigation is ongoing, and no further statement will be made at this time.”

At round 1:45 a.m., TPD Capt. Jack Kennedy stated the motive force of the automobile that she was a passenger in approached campus police close to Bryant-Denny stadium, telling them somebody had shot on the automotive.

After information broke that Miles was allegedly implicated within the taking pictures, he was let go from the College’s males’s basketball staff.

“The University of Alabama’s utmost priority is the safety and well-being of the campus community,” the varsity stated.  “We are grieved by the incident that occurred near campus last night and extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and friends.”
