DC introduced Monday that its new Superman will come out as bisexual in an upcoming collection.
Jon Kent, son of Clark Kent, whom many know as the unique Superman, will come out as bisexual and enter right into a relationship with good friend Jay Nakamura. This can be revealed within the November 9 problem, Superman: Son of Kal-El #5.
“I’ve always said everyone needs heroes and everyone deserves to see themselves in their heroes and I’m very grateful DC and Warner Bros. share this idea,” Superman: Son of Kal-el author Tom Taylor, stated within the announcement. “Superman’s symbol has always stood for hope, for truth, and for justice. Today, that symbol represents something more. Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”
This announcement, which was revealed on Nationwide Coming Out Day, comes as the comedian e book business continues to work to enhance LGBTQ+ illustration.
