Brooklyn Nets Trade Kyrie Irving To Dallas Mavericks Days After He Demanded Trade

The dramatic saga between Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets is coming to an finish. The Nets traded Irving to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday, simply days after the embattled star requested a commerce.

The Athletic’s Shams Charania reviews that in trade for Irving, Brooklyn will get Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, a first-round draft decide, and a number of second-round picks.

Irving, 30, has averaged 27.1 factors, 5.3 assists, and 5.1 rebounds for the Nets in 40 video games this season. His relationship with the Nets group has been tense during the last couple of seasons. He refused to get vaccinated in accordance with New York’s COVID-19 coverage and sat out for almost all of final season. Earlier this season, he was suspended eight video games with out pay for selling an anti-semitic film on Twitter. 

It was reported final month that Irving was ready to remain in Brooklyn and needed to debate a contract extension with the franchise. In the end, he demanded to be traded. He was contemplating sitting the remainder of the season if he wasn’t dealt by Thursday’s commerce deadline. 

Dinwiddie, who beforehand performed for the Nets from 2016-2021, has averaged 17.7 factors and 5.3 assists this season with the Mavericks. He is incomes $20 million this season and is ready to make $21 million subsequent 12 months.
