20 Car Pile-Up Leaves People Injured; White Out Weather Conditions

Washoe County Sheriff’s Workplace reported that as much as 20 vehicles had been concerned in a crash in northwest Nevada.

Drivers reported going by whiteout climate situations.

Truckee Meadows Fireplace & Rescue responded to the Sunday morning pileup and said at least three folks had been transported to the hospital with unknown situations.

“Conditions are extreme in the Washoe Valley with 50 mph winds and whiteout conditions,” the division posted on Twitter.

The Nationwide Weather Service Workplace in Reno additionally made a Twitter post saying, “Today is the type of day to just stay home if you can,” including that extra snow was on the way in which.

“Quite the wintery morning across the region! Expect major travel delays on all roads. Strong winds are creating areas of considerable blowing snow and whiteout conditions,” NWS Reno mentioned.

Meg Ragonese, a public info officer for the Nevada Division of Transportation, mentioned that its crews “have been working diligently in staggered 12-hour shifts through the past week to cover 24-hour snow and ice abatement.”

“Crews patrol area highways and closely monitor more than 50 roadside weather/meteorological stations across northwestern Nevada to most efficiently target roadway brine, salt, sand, and snow removal on Nevada highways,” Ragonese added.
